Storyteller (Writer Only)

Elite Editing is seeking a seasoned writer to craft customer-centric, technology-focused marketing materials for our Fortune 500 tech clients. Technical Storyteller/writers work with our clients’ customers via live interviews to create case studies, blog posts, and social media copy. This is a contract role.
Responsibilities of a storyteller/writer
- Research technical topics and industries when necessary.
- Write engaging, on-brand case studies and blog posts in line with a client-specific style guide.
- Deliverables include 1- and 2-page customer-reference case studies, technical blog posts, assets for social channels, and various add-ons like PowerPoint presentations.
- Follow style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, AP style, with some exceptions for client’s unique style guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to follow and improve relevant processes.
- Incorporate changes to drafts based on stakeholder feedback.
You’ll be at the top of our list if you have…
- Relevant experience in tech or IT-related writing and/or journalism.
- Experience interviewing and building rapport with subject matter experts and thought leaders.
- Experience writing customer stories, case studies, or thought leadership pieces.
- Prior agency experience and understanding of agency/client relationships; you won’t be coordinating or managing content approvals, but familiarity with that process is valuable.
Time commitment and Rates
- Availability up to 30 hours a week for writing.
- Availability to respond to work offers within 24 hours.
- Pay varies based on experience, skill, and assignment, but as a guide, a writer working on a standard 1,000-word case study can expect to earn $150–$300.
- Location is remote, work from anywhere, that’s all we’re doing anyways. Must be authorized to work in the US.
